Four KONAMI Athletes to Represent Japan - 49th NHK Cup and 42nd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Japanese Team Trials Held -

“49th NHK Cup and 42nd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships Japanese Team Trials” were held June 12-13 at the Yoyogi National Gymnasium's Olympic Arena (Shibuya Ward, Tokyo).

At the event, the thirty-six top athletes from the All Japan Artistic Gymnastics Championships Individuals Competition held in May competed for places on the Japan team at the NHK Cup, the October 42nd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam (Netherlands), the 16th Asian Games in Guangzhou (China), and the July 2010 JAPAN CUP at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium in Sendagaya.

Six athletes from KONAMI's gymnastics team : Ryosuke Baba, Kenya Kobayashi, Takehito Mori, Makoto Okiguchi, Koji Uematsu, Tatsuki Nakashima,entered the competition.

By the end of the two-day competition, Uematsu ranked third individually overall and Kobayashi and Nakashima were among the top three in category points. In all, an astounding three athletes secured places on the Japan team at the World Championships.

At the same time, Baba was chosen to attend the Asian Games, Uematsu and Kobayshi were the JAPAN CUP to Represent Japan.

We hope everyone will continue to voice their support for these athletes as they train even harder to take medals in these international competitions.
