Fujii Takes Bronze Medal in 100m Butterfly
The 11th Pan Pacific Swimming Championships

The 11th Pan Pacific Swimming Championships were held in Irvine, California (U.S.A.) on August 18-21, with four athletes from KONAMI including Ryo Takayasu(KONAMI),Takuro Fujii(KONAMI),Tomoyo Fukuda(KONAMI TAKASAKI),Junpei Higashi(KONAMI CHUORINKAN) representing Japan in the competition.

In the 100m butterfly, Takuro Fujii(KONAMI) took third place and a bronze medal in a close race with veteran international swimmers. Junpei Higashi(KONAMI CHUORINKAN) was awarded both seventh place in the 800m freestyle and eighth in the 400. Tomoyo Fukuda(KONAMI TAKASAKI) was awarded eighth place in the 100m butterfly.

Fujii swam fourth in the 400m medley relay to take second place and a silver medal, and was awarded fifth place in the 400m relay, helping to raise the team score.

Many international competitions will be held this year, including the Swimming World Cup Japan, the Asian Games, and the Short Course World Swimming Championships.
