Kobayashi, Uematsu, Nakajima Help Japanese Team Win Silver
Gymnastics – 42nd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships

Gymnastics – 42nd Artistic Gymnastics World Championships were held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on October 16-24.

This tournament was the first qualifying round for the 2012 London Olympics, and it also marked the first time team competitions were held since the Beijing Olympics. The event attracted attention from around the world in anticipation of the 2012 London Olympics.

Three athletes from KONAMI’s gymnastics team took part: Kobayashi Kenya (Japan team captain), Uematsu Koji and Nakajima Tatsuki. The mood was tense during the men’s team finals held on October 21 as the standings changed with each event. Amid this atmosphere, KONAMI’s three gymnasts appealed to the world to take notice with superb performances, and contributed to the team’s silver medal win.
